These are my three attempts of Amy's hair design i have created the first attempt we were trying to find the right plait for the design and a Dutch plait was the most affective, so i had to work of sectioning them neatly, the second attempt was done on a Katie head the hair was a lot different so I couldn't get the full look Amy was after, the third attempt was done just how she wasted it, I managed to create the plaits neatly and intertwined to make one, we managed to get the full puffy crimped look Amy was aiming for by back combing into the crimp to make it bigger.

My Assessment

I thought my assessment went really well, I managed to create the design Amy provided within the time given, I had to create two Dutch plaits the combined into one plait at the back of the head, with the bottom half of the hair I had to crimp it all and brush it all out, then back comb it all to give more volume to the crimp, once that was done I had to use a gold glitter spray to spray all of her hair a spray the middle parting.

Dutch plaits are the same as French plait but upside down,

To do this you need to section a small piece of hair from the top of the head plait like normal but going under instead of over the top, once you plait the hair round once you'll need to add a piece of hair each time time and you should end up with a nice Dutch plait.

My attempt of male Elizabethan hair

We were asked to partner up and create an Elizabethan hairstyle, as I was partnered up with Toby I thought id create a male version by crimping and curling his dreadlocks with his permission, at first I was trying to create a crown out of hair but it didn't really work so Lottie came up with using a prop crown, so I placed the crown on Toby's head and wrapped his hair around the crown, i used the curls to fill the middle to give the look volume and included a plait at the back.

I thought Amy done really well, she managed to achieve my design perfectly and in the time frame giving, at first when i gave her my design she didn't no how to do wiggle plaits but she practised and managed to create them just how i wanted them to be, there was a bit of in issue with the waves staying in my hair as my hair doesn't take to heated waves or curls so they dropped out pretty quickly, but she tried her best to keep them in by spraying hair spray in my hair witch helped a little bit.

When she was practising my design the wiggle plaits slightly confused her but i added in images of how to section them and it helped clarify what i wanted.

Over all im very happy with the outcome well done!.

This is my partners assessment, Amy had to recreate my design of Elizabethan hair, I thought Amy did really well considering she struggled to do wiggle plaits at first but she practised and the outcome in the end was perfect, the waves in my hair would quite stay in as my hair doesn't take well to being curled or waved with heat so it kept dropping out.

Structured Hair Without Props

To create structured hair you need to use a pintail comb to section the hair into four sections two big and two small.

Once the hair is sectioned you'll need to French plait the two small sections like so, this will create a pinning base for the structured hair.

You will then need to back comb the piece of hair you will be using for structure, once that is done you will need to create the shape you desire for my look it'll be a round bun shape to do the you will need to fold the hair over toward the plaited pin base, using your pin tail comb will help hold in position while you pin it to the plait.

When this is complete the finished look should look like this.
